Who Say's GIRLS Can't Fight...

We pull up to 640 Crespo Drive in Pacifica, CA and the line is stretched from the entry to the outdoor porter potty, Beautiful Brawlers is back and the community is excited. Blanca Gutierrez has successfully put on her sixth female boxing extravaganza, $20 at the door and you are permitted to experience a girl fight 22 times.

Blanca Gutierrez says with the help of Martha Salazar they "uplift female and sports" this truth is clear as you watch 9 year old baby girls to 50 year old women prance around this Baby Face Boxing promotion with equal maturity and professionalism. These boxers are not only acting the part they look the part rocking the style of the industry, French braided cornrows lace their hair, shiny shimmering shorts hang from the waist and tightly fitted tank tops are neatly tucked into their trousers.

Like most professional sports the night is kicked off with the anthem in this case we were serenaded with the Canadian Anthem and the American one followed, I would have been truly impressed if the National Negro Anthem was also included in the honoring of spirits but that is still too much to ask when even amongst these rebellious boxers the announcer felt it necessary to beg everyone to their feet mentioning the absence of Kaepernick as if his message was also not in the room. I am happy to report that our camera man (Dominic Ross) took a knee and I did remain seated during the anthem, although the singer opera ballet was breathtaking. What better place to fight for my rights than the VI Beautiful Brawlers boxing match.

Let's get Ready to Rumble
22 bouts and first in the ring are two 75lbs girls one age 12 and the other 13. Red vs. Blue corners, hands getting thrown, left hook, right hook; the fight goes on 3 rounds at 1minute each and the judges tally up each hit to proclaim a winner.

Girls come in and out of the ring going toe to toe while others stand with coaches simultaneously officials approve their meticulously wrapped hands along with mouthpieces. The anticipation sticks to the walls and the fight stays in the ring. Outside the ring these girls are friends, role models to each other, sparring partners, teachers and gossip buddies. The sportsWomanship is just as good looking as the fighters shaking hands, hugging, helping one another in and out the ring just before and right after taking a hard left hook to the jaw.

Nachos, Pizza and Beer are making their rounds while family members grit their teeth praying their baby girl's blood is not drawn and blood… does spill.

Jessica Juarez fights in Bout 4 , 17 years old as of August 26, weighing 130 lbs has no problem bleeding or breaking skin for the matter. Fighting, Peony Vegas also 17 at the same weight we watch an exchange of fundamental boxing. This fight draws all eyes back to the ring, Jessica is a bull draped by fire red hair and desire in her eyes. These rounds last 30 seconds longer and these beautiful girls get ugly. Gloves up, knees bent and the intention to eliminate their opponent is clear. Jessica's father proves to be a great coach as they pronounce the winner, Red Corner, Jessica Juarez.
Jessica Juarez Winner RED CORNER

The fights keep coming, girls who have found a passion, not for cooking, cleaning, and playing with dolls but a passion for pain. Punching, dodging, and dancing fearlessly through all life's obstacle or opponents in this case.

Meliyah Anzuita Winner
Bout 8 the 10 year old Meliyah Anzuita stuns her opponent leaving Blanca Gutierrez saying "how can you be so cute and so mean..., while congratulating Meliyah on her win.

We all know Laila Ali, but have we over looked the generations she still influences to fight their own battles. These women are fit, focused and fierce.

Right after watching our youngest fighters (9 year old Dana Pineda vs. 10 year old Meliyah Anzuita) of the night in step the masters Beki Light vs. Dawn Verbois, 50 year old women ready to put their fitness to the test. Blanca Gutierrez shows us what the female variety of fierce truly looks like.
Beki Light vs. Dawn Verbois

13 bouts down intermission comes allowing more interacting and another excuse to eat drink and maybe even purchase your very own $25 DVD of 9.4.26 Beautiful Brawlers all 22 fights, not televised but videotaped for her personal enjoyment at home, where Beki can rewind and re-watch her win.

The boys and men served and the women roamed and wrestled with thoughts of winning and losing, it was nice to watch the reversal of roles.

The Bizness Magazine had a chance to sit and chat with Czarina! Empress! McCoy from Las Vegas, NV. This beautiful 15 year old styling a half up half down soft warm brown curly fro shares her journey thus far as a boxer. Entering the industry at 11 years old she has found peace in the power that comes with lacing up a pair of gloves and striking the "stranger" in her ring. Four years of boxing and she is not getting tired of it instead she is pushing past any doubt and delivering herself victorious in every fight fought thus far. Empress shares her surprise that "she" could be "good" at something, boxing is actually one of the many things she is good at. This once chubby, hot tempered little girl is now a lean, disciplined, determined boxer. When asked how she got involved in boxing she laughed with bright eyes explaining "it was kind of an accident, my dad and I were looking for a new gymnastics spot and..." just her luck she ended up at Richard Steele Boxing Club. Now instead of being the next Sophina DeJesus or Gabby Douglas making noise is gymnastics she is training to be the next Laila Ali hoping to qualify for the 2020 Olympics. When asked how to avoid a black eyes she say’s "you don't want to get hit, move", and that is exactly what she did wining bout 10.

#BoxingBarbie -Ashleigh Morgan Rucker
The Bizness Magazine came all the way out to Pacific, CA to cover this brutal profession called boxing because we got wind that Ashleigh Morgan Rucker, model, Fashion Stylist and Massage Therapist was adding a pair of boxing gloves to her wardrobe. Sept 4, 2016 the 5"9 long lean chocolate beauty at 28 years old decided to fight her way to fame.

Ashleigh #boxingbarbie Rucker did not leave her style at home wearing sparkling black and red trunks that she somehow managed to customize at the perfect length to show off her long legs as her trouser ride her mid thigh and hug her small waist. This Boxing Barbie put on her favorite eye lashes pulled up her glitter shorts and has given glamour shot a whole new meaning, with each pose came a punch earning Ashleigh Boxing Barbie Rucker the only TKO of the evening. Boxing with Boxing for Health out of Oakland, CA the team chants "dead game" and her debut explains why. Now this model and stylist and yes officially a boxer has a long way to go but it's clear with only 3 months’ worth of training under Bilal Mahasin at Boxing for Health compared to the 3 years her opponent has been training, #boxingbarbie means business so don't be distracted by her batting eye lashes and lip biting smile or you just might have an early ending fight like this one only 2 rounds second round called at 1:52 TKO!

The fights were heart pumping jaw dropping and exciting thanks to Lupe Gutierrez all out superstar taunting and mocking smirks throughout her entire fight this girl came to win and means business make no mistake Elyza Peralta was not going down without a fight and responded to each smile with a punch not enough to win her the fight but enough to make us keep an eye on her. We cannot forget Citlali Ortiz 17 at 155lbs who rocked Kylie Hall off her feet. Citlali not only won her white belt for the night but she also walked away with the GREEN belt earning her FIGHT OF THE NIGHT. Heavy hitters were definitely in the ring.

There were upsets like the Canadian Kelly Gailey losing to Tope Pedro personally it was a bad call the wrong call the patient and precision of the Canadian boxer was smooth and swift she deserved that win round by round.

Nonetheless Blanca Gutierrez knows how to honor ladies and showcase Beautiful Brawlers with the support of Mauricio Martinez of Pacifica Cages. For more information visit www.babyfaceboxing.com.
